Root Followed tutorial to flash new ROM, numerous issues

As the title states, I went ahead and rooted a Droid 2, and flashed it with the Apex ROM. Now, when I boot it up, there are numerous issues. The first being that I can't seem to connect to anything. The phone will not come out of airplane mode, so cannot connect to any networks or make any calls. Nothing seems to be able to fix this.

The second is all the "alt" keyboard keys on the physical keyboard seem to be mixed up. They end up pressing different keys than what they say.

Otherwise, I can't seem to get the phone into recovery either now, and unfortunately I've been trying to find the SBF file to use RSD Lite and attempt a fix, but the internet no longer seems to have any working links for that file.

Help please?

I think I know what I did wrong, but do not know how to hopefully fix it. Was unaware Droid 2 Global Roms were different, and this is definitely the Global. Please tell me there's a way to get out of this trouble.

Don't worry, there's almost always a way to get your phone back to the original state and start over. Since you already have RSD Lite, all you need is the proper SBF file.

For me (I have a D2 non-global with Verizon) this was VRZ_A955_2.3.20_1FF_01.sbf. I'm not sure if the SBF file differs from carrier to carrier (note the VRZ at the beginning of the above one), but I have a feeling it doesn't, since the Wiki for Cyanogenmod links to the above SBF with no mention of carrier.

In any case, you can download it here:
http://cmw.22aaf3.com/droid2/stock/VRZ_A955_2.3.20.zip

That will get your phone back to the original Froyo, and you can then go into Settings -> About Phone -> System Updates and update to GB.

Good luck!

P.S. You will have to re-root after this if you want to re-ROM.
