font color for messages

Sounds like the update caused a compatibility problem between the S7 and your whatever it is messaging app. Maybe worth you emailing the app developers about it
 
Using whatever app came with the phone. I am not very smart phone savvy, so have no idea what app I am using. How do you know what app you are using?
 
I am having the same problem in the Samsung messages app after the update 2 days ago. I can't even read part if the conversation in certain themes and the colors and presentation doesn't change amongst various theme changes.
 
So it looks like the latest update to Samsungs messaging app has broken things a bit.
Can you find the stock messaging app, open it, go into it's settings and change the font color from there? If not just download a 3rd party messaging app from the play store to use as your default.
 
Recent update on my Samsung Galaxy 7 Active has changed my text message colors. No way to correct. Bright blue background with white text - almost impossible to read. AT&T was no help.
 
My S7 Edge stock SMS format is totally screwed up after latest software update 9/28/2018 on AT&T.
Can't even find the formatting settings for the text messages anymore and the device runs like utter garbage.
Who is the idiot that approves these updates? I'm pretty much never going to buy a Samsung again.

Had this problem as well after the update. What you need to do is go into the themes thing, switch to another theme, update the one you had, and then reapply it. Simply reapplying did not work for me.

Thanks. I ended up doing a full wipe. I had the phone since 2015, so it needed cleaning anyway. I backed it up but preferred to setup as new phone and honestly it works like a new device
