Fooling the proximity sensor

Lembasts

Greetings,
When you are on a call and lift the phone to your ear, the screen goes blank to prevent accidental touches. Thats fine. Its just that many calls to businesses require you to enter numbers on the keypad. What I have found is that sometimes when I go to press a number on the keypad, the screen blanks out thinking my hand movement is bringing the phone to my ear. This of course is very frustrating. What is the trick to using the keypad or any other touches that are necessary when you are on a call without triggering the proximity sensor?

Thanks
David

I know exactly what you mean! I did find that it can be turned off. The only place I've seen it is when you are in any of call screens or whatever they are called (Keypad, logs, favorites, or contacts), hit the menu button and go to call settings. There is a check box (Auto screen off during calls) that will turn off the proximity sensor.

There's not too much of a trick to it. Most aren't as sensitive as yours. I've seen a few people with this issue.
