Find it really painful to do something using the phone... is there an application thts equal to the Nokia PC Suite for Android Phone?

My phone explorer is very buggy for android, doesnt work most of the time, for me anyway.

I use android wifi manager, works very well, but its only wifi, no usb cable support.

MyPhone Explorer for Android works fine for me.
I always use WiFi to connect to the PC.

+1 for MyPhoneExplorer.

The main thing that I missed, coming from Nokia to Android, was the Nokia PC Suite (not the clunky Ovi Suite) and have found that MPE more than fits the bill. :D

+more for MPE. No bugs that I've found. Coming from Nokia myself I only 'sorta' missed it at first. But then a mate came over and we tried to plug his N8 into my PC. No way was it going to work. Then I remembered why I didn't actually miss PC Suite at all. It was always having driver issues. Hope Nokia spend some of M'Softs Billions on fixing the damn thing!

The Motorola website has software you can download to access files on your phone. I don't remember the name off-hand....but it is NOT as efficient as PC Suite. Works, though.

I Miss, sending and deleting messages that I could do from my Nokia PC Suit
I use Google Voice for this. Any internet-connected PC can be used and the device doesn't even need to be present. It doesn't have the other features of Nokia's suite.

Nokia changed to OVI suite which is a PITA. Everything uses icons and not file names, it promptly wants to sync music and photos - which torked me. I can do that myself and put the stuff where I want it. You did lose some functions.

I still say that we need a good sync system like the old Palm. You could delete messages, files (if you used Docs to Go), set up your calendar and just sync the stuff w/o carrier, OS, or anything else getting in the way.

What phone do you have? My HTC Desire Z comes with HTC software that syncs my phone with my PC. I don't really use it that often though. Most of the time, it is not necessary as I am using Gmail and that syncs through the cloud. Most of the time, I just connect my phone as a USB storage device and move the files over.

I don't sync the phone with the PC. I use the card. I don't want Gmail updating as it screws up the Gmail on the computers. I go through Tbird on both Linux and XP.
I had to sync with Yahoo once, and Yahoo grabbed all the contacts off the phone.
I have since deleted all contacts from Yahoo's site.
Titanium is allowed to update and some other apps and that's it. I got rid of all the social crap.
I enter stuff for notes and appointments on the calendar in my own way, so they look rather strange.
I save the files from my financial app as a Quicken file, then just take it off the card. I played with Kies with the Galaxy 3. I don't like it. I don't like anything making assumptions about what I want. I haven't used Kies with the GS4G.
All phones should have an app that will read a txt file normally. W/o the Office Suite.I had a few lists on a Nokia, and had to change them to PDF for the Galaxy to see them.
I prefer to transfer files.
Is there any app that will let you save memos, etc as a regular text file so anything can read it, and you can file it on the card? Instead of where Samsung thinks it should go?
