For those worried about the NSA's Prism program

Have to say, I'm struggling to see how doing anything on the handset would affect the call data Prism grabs, given Prism gets the metadata from the networks :confused:

I guess you could use something like TOR to protect your internet traffic, though as reported earlier this week, that's not so secure anymore: apparently, they've worked out how to identify TOR users with 95% accuracy. Besides, given TOR was created - and continues to be primarily funded - by the US Navy, you have to wonder what sort of backdoors the NSA already has into it.

Well here is the link to the actual post. Basically what they are suggesting is installing CyanogenMOD 10.1.2 or better without GAPPS/Google Play, enable encryption and Privacy Guard, then install a bunch of apps that allow for end-to-end encryption for email, text and phone calls. There are some other things like installing a firewall and tor too.
