For Tivo users

Tivo finally gives us what ios users have had for a year, our own official app.

I haven't used it extensively, but have been disappointed to find that season passes can't be edited or reordered outside the home wifi network. Still, it's progress!

Well the app doesn't see my Tivo HD! Both are connected to my home Wifi. It needs a manual setup so I can put my Tivo's ip addresses. Oh well.

Is the Tivo still around? I remember Currys and Comet in the UK having massive promotions on the things a few years ago, then they suddenly disappeared. A video DVR device with a hard-drive wasn't it?

TiVo App is now available on Android phones and select tablets. This is a great application because it makes tasks easier, quicker, more efficient, and better. TiVo

It better be! I've got a lifetime sub. on my Tivo HD. And yes it's a hard drive based DVR. The first I believe.

I ♥ my Tivo. Not only for TV shows, but I use gPodder and Tivo Desktop to download web videos (RSS video podcasts, YouTube, etc) to my computer then upload them to Tivo HD automatically. I can stream home videos off my computer to my 42" LG HDTV via Tivo. It's very versatile.

I think "Lost" was the last show I actually watched "live", just cause I couldn't wait for each episode. Everything else is time shifted, hours or days after recording it.

Of course I upgraded the hard drive a couple of times. First from the original 160Gb HD (20 hours) to 750Gb (113 hours), now with a 2Tb drive. That's 318 hours of HD video!

Now if only the official Tivo app would "see" my Tivo. Wish they'd take a hint from RCX for Tivo and allow manual IP entry for Tivo location.
