If you use your camera a lot(i use it also for saving personal notes plus coupons, announcements n what not from newspapers, storefronts(n their address for future reference), whatever...
good camera apps abound- XCam LG(technically best, adds what LG deprecated from its firmware, for an experience closer to the G3 n G2Pro...BUT...): http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/app-xcam-lg-v5-1-0-t2873604

Problem is that you need the stuff saved to external AND for auto backup / sync apps for Google Pictures, Dropbox, etc. to pick up the folder location.

is a heavyweight app that accomplishes.
Even if u don't care about the Cloud Sync, prior to connecting phone to computer you'd need to copy contents to alternate folder or they may not be visible to the computer.
A good example of this @ download managers is how ES File Explorer's download manager trumps ADM.
This is the price to pay for not rooting, on a case by case basis-- you have to find apps for each category, that can handle Lollipop's external SD conventions.
Even Camera MX isn't as totally efficient as ES-- on the latter you can pick any folder on external(this way contents don't get forcibly removed when uninstalling app).
