Help Foreign icon on notification bar

ShayBay

Lurker
Can someone help me with a foreign icon that is on my notification bar, I don't know where it comes from. And want to delete it, so I downloaded Addons Detector & Airpush Finder. They didn't get rid of it. What am I doing wrong? I have a screenshot of this Icon (below, next to the bluetooth icon).

You click on it or touch and hold and it will tell you the info which you can find which application has put that icon. Any application which you recently installed?

I tried to click on it, does work, and its not on the notification pulldown.

NFC stands for Near Field Communication. It allows you to directly connect to another device. Go to Settings, Connect and Share and you can turn it off (or on)

You haven't said what device you have, but on the HTC One the NFC (Near Field Communications) ON/OFF toggle can be found in "Settings - Wireless & Networks - More". The icon in notifications indicates it is currently on.

:)
