I have an old HTC Eris that I no longer use. I have forgotten the password and would like to get into the phone to get some info. Is there any way to get around the password without losing all of the data?
If you are talking about a screen lock password, then after a fixed number of incorrect entries your phone should prompt you for the password for the gmail account the phone is registered to. If that doesn't work, shut off the phone, log into the gmail account on a website and change the password using Google's password recovery. Once the new password is confirmed, turn on the phone and try using the new password.
Hope this helps... if you have any other questions regarding your device, feel free to sign up and post in the sub-forum for your phone (HTC Droid Eris - Android Forums)
