Format of Ring tones and how to transfer from laptop to phone.

I've downloaded a copy of Green Onions to use as my ring tone. I've downloaded a.mp3 copy and an .m4r copy. Which one is best to put on the phone and how do I do it please?

MP3 has always worked for me.

Just connect the phone to your PC, create a folder on your sd card called Ringtones, copy the file there and it should appear in the list when you go to set your ring tone.
