Help formatted the wrong thing help

I did a format trying to free up space and i think i screwed up. Now I can't use data, make calls, send texts, or use wifi. Not only that my virgin mobile app is not there anymore. My wife and I have the same phone so i pored through hers with root explorer to no avail. does anyone a fix or the name of the things i need to fix my phone. Our service renewal is sunday and my wife won't keep mine on if it's broken. Thanx in advance!!!

Edit: my wife was trying to help and did a factory reset and didn't uncheck erase external so now my backup is gone which didn't help anyway and now i can't flash data to get my phone number back and my sim keeps locking.
 
Is your device already rooted with twrp recovery installed? If so just download the stock deodexed rom and move it to sd and flash it via twrp. Then once booted enter settings and update your prl and profile in system updates. That will recover your data. If your device still boots up but just has no data,enter settings and try to get your prl and profile updated via system updates. That may recover your data.
 
Heres the activation app. If you can push it to system/priv-app then reboot you might be able to get your data settings back.

What about the virgin mobile app? I can't find where it is located at, and I remember having to use it to finish activation when i first got the phone
 
so i think i know what i did i didn't know it would hurt the device this bad to format data and internal storage. It used to be that all files contained on a device when you flash a rom was on the rom. i wiped /data and /internal storage. /data doesn't matter except for /data/media because that's where internal storago is actually located. I think there are some files in internal storage that control the connectivity and that is the reason why i can't do anything having to do with a network. Any thoughts?
 
I always wipe internal along with data in twrp. I always get an error about media but it doesnt seem to hurt anything.
 
yeah, i copy and pasted my wife's onto mine no change. this is the fisrt issue on android i haven't been able to solve myself. I can't for the life of me figure out what is missing I have pored over the root folder of both mine and my wifes phone and nothing tried flashing multiple times to no avail. It's gotta be something missing in the root folder.
 
Curtis1973 Where can i find ro.use_data_netmgrd I think thats some of what is missing. I was just looking through init.class_main.sh and if it is missing then that would explain why any network isn't working
 
That is usually seen as setting in build.prop


It is part of data modules properties. Cant give you much more than that. Never really delved much into tweaking those options nor how they work.

is it possible to extract modem.img from the rom to flash it maybe that will work i remembered having to flash that that from my s2 days
 
I bricked it. Bought another, but here's the modem found it on xda after hard brick fml. Flash only if you have no network capabilities data or wifi. And most definitely DO NOT try using a volt radio.img. Edit: It will break your phone. No display, can't reboot into recovery, fastboot doesn't even work.
