Found My Back-Up, But Can't Restore it. Why? (See Screenshots)

Got a new phone, I did not sign into my Google account during the set-up process. I am signed in now though. So I need to restore my previous apps.

I found the back-up of my old phone on the Drive App, but there is no option to restore it, or select it. The only thing you can do is delete it. How do I restore it?

Do you still have the old phone? Most manufacturers these days have initial setup tools for transferring data directly from one phone to another, so if you've got it still it might be easier to try that than to figure this out.

Otherwise I've not done this myself, but these instructions look like the sort of thing you are after: https://www.androidcentral.com/how-restore-your-apps-and-settings-new-android-phone

No, it was lost.
So I actually saw that exact tutorial earlier today and read through that. The problem is I already have the phone set-up and running. I was in the store rushing through to get it running and skipped all that stuff. That restore stuff ONLY comes up when you first turn on the phone for the first time.

Do you think I should I try factory reseting the phone and doing those steps this time? I'm afraid of it erasing the older March 24th back up, not sure.

Doing a reset should let you do the initial setup again. I can't see why it would erase the Google Drive backup (if you have any doubts you could turn off its internet connections before resetting, so there's no possible connection to Drive).

I expect it will want you to enter your Google password after the reset (Factory Reset Protection) unless you sign out of your Google account on the phone first, but I guess that's not a problem either.

Yes, it should prompt you following a factory reset to restore from a backup.

I did a factory reset, it did allow me to choose that older March 24th backup this time. Apps and call log restored.

But I guess the back-up does not include android phone settings? Same phone.

I thought it was supposed to..... like Ringtone, battery mode, wallpaper, lock screen settings, vibration feedback turned off, etc....

The problem with backing up phone settings, unless it's an identical phone on the same OS version as before you could end up with some conflicts. The last thing you need with a new phone.
