Foxconn to replace workers with 1 million robots in 3 years

"SHENZHEN, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Taiwanese technology giant Foxconn will replace some of its workers with 1 million robots in three years to cut rising labor expenses and improve efficiency, said Terry Gou, founder and chairman of the company, late Friday.

The robots will be used to do simple and routine work such as spraying, welding and assembling which are now mainly conducted by workers, said Gou at a workers' dance party Friday night.

The company currently has 10,000 robots and the number will be increased to 300,000 next year and 1 million in three years, according to Gou.

Foxconn, the world's largest maker of computer components which assembles products for Apple, Sony and Nokia, is in the spotlight after a string of suicides of workers at its massive Chinese plants, which some blamed on tough working conditions.

The company currently employs 1.2 million people, with about 1 million of them based on the Chinese mainland."

Two thoughts come to mind...

1) Robots don't usually jump to their deaths from tall buildings.
2) Who's making the robots?

Nah.. we'll just cover all the wall sockets and wait 'til their batteries run down.

Damn outsourcing. Now they've found workers who will work for no pay, no benefits and 24/7 with no HR overhead.

Well for the record, they already had that, Made in China by Tiny Child Hands (no apple, I own the trademark to that, don't think you can use child labor as a "new and revolutionary process.")

And before I get an cease and desist order from apple, Apple admits using child labour - Telegraph

And the reason I had to trademark that term, because apple will take anything and claim it has their own.

A good start, I must say.

"A good start ..." to " ... in the Lodz ghetto, German state and private entrepreneurs established 96 plants and factories that produced goods for the German war effort. Forced-labor practices escalated in the spring of 1942, following changes in the administration of concentration camps." ?

Forced Labor: An Overview

It appears the new right wing is no longer racially biased, the Final Solution, is the solution for birth control and individual reproductive freedom must be prohibited at all costs to avoid the ruination of the state and private entrepreneurs partnerships.

The destruction of free societies by an elite for self-preservation has a long tradition as described in The Prince, Chapter V, by Nicolo Machiavelli, published 1513.

In three years, we will see reports of robots committing suicide because of the horrible working conditions at Foxconn.

LOL, their parts will be reassembled as an American tech worker and told their sin for betraying the ruling class has resulted in condemnation to hell.

Eventually the only work available will be services (and I bet even some of those will be limited). We will have robots make and do everything for us but not have any money to pay for it...

Foxconn might find that robots can have feelings and emotions as well.

A million unhappy Chinese androids could have unforeseen consequences for Foxconn.

The 14 Characteristics of Fascism

Powerful and Continuing Nationalism

Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottoes, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights

Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause

The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

Supremacy of the Military

Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

Rampant Sexism

The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

Controlled Mass Media

Sometimes the media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

Obsession with National Security

Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

Religion and Government are Intertwined

Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

Corporate Power is Protected

The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

Labor Power is Suppressed

Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed .

Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts

Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

Obsession with Crime and Punishment

Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

Rampant Cronyism and Corruption

Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

Fraudulent Elections

Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

Notice how much ink Hitler spent on this issue, p.380 http://ia600208.us.archive.org/5/items/MeinKampf_483/HitlerAdolf-MeinKampf-VolumeIIi1939525P..pdf

The rhetoric Hitler used is still being heard to this day. Hope I didn't go over the line and get flagged and censored as I made references to this in another post.
