Help Foxfi and 4.1.2 work anymore?

I have a razr maxx running 4.1.2. (older razr maxx). Verizon is my carrier.

Are any of you getting foxfi/pdanet wifi to work on your device?

I have tried restarting, renaming the hotspot, having a password, not having a password. Nothing works.

I know I can activate the usb tethering. But what cable would I need for ipad to razr maxx?

I am trying to use my ipad in the car while using my phone as a wifi hotspot. Any suggestions?

Try a genius bar. I'm sure Apple has a cable that will work, and they probably have unpackaged ones they use, so you can test whatever they recommend (which is probably what they'll do, unless there's a specific one made to tether to an Android).

I have the same setup as you without any problems. Occasionally I need to reboot my droid, and then it works perfectly. I am sure you know this, but here are my settings. I go to PdaNet (assuming that is what you are using), go to settings/Activate WiFi Hotspot and wait for the check mark to appear in the box. I don't know if this is necessary, but I also have USB debugging checked in the settings/developer options menu. I have a Windows 7 based computer and my wife has all the possible Apple devices available and the hot spot works perfectly. Hope this helps.

Similar to your situation. Have Droid 4 and updated to 4.1.2 via OTA.
Initially lost FoxFi hotspot. Updated to the latest FoxFi on Google Play. Still didn't work. I was furious because I thought Verizon screwed me again.
But I read somewhere that I need PDA Net. Installed it from Google Play. (The key that I bought for FoxFi in the past is also good for PDA Net.)
Now I have the hotspot back, although through PDA Net not FoxFi.
If your FoxFi is not working, try PDA Net. It's free, and if you've purchased the the subscription
key for FoxFi, it should work for PDA Net.

Thanks. I had to turn on USB bugging.
