FoxFi/PdaNet to MacOS question

Hi all,

I am using FoxFi 2.17.2 on a Samsung Galaxy S3 (Android 4.3, latest T-Mobile build) to do USB tethering with a MacOS system (Yosemite) running PdaNet 4.12 (the latest Mac version from pdanet.co). Works OK, but I want to make sure that I hide the tethering from the carrier. Instructions on pdanet.co talk about a Settings -> Hide Tether Usage -> Level I change available by 'clicking on the PdaNet tray icon', but all I see is a PdaNet icon (tray-less?) in my Finder menubar with NO way to change settings of any kind. I suspect that these instructions are Windows-only. Is there a way to achieve this setting under MacOS? I have already written to the PdaNet support e-mail and gotten no response. :-[

As background on this, I was formerly using FoxFi in wi-fi mode under my original T-Mobile Android build (4.1.2), but when I upgraded to the current T-Mobile build a few weeks ago FoxFi seemed to just route the hot spotting through T-Mobile's own Hotspot app, which I don't want! The USB-tethered data seems to flow only through FoxFi, so that's better, but my understanding is that T-Mobile may still be sniffing my packets to detect a tethered device. My phone/Android/carrier config is NOT one of the wi-fi configurations supported by FoxFi/PdaNet.

Thanks!
