Free activation from Verizon

I bought the samsung charge through Amazon.com on the 2nd and they advertised free activation through Verizon til Aug 10th. I got my bill today and was charged the $35 activation fee. I had Verizon a few years back and BB advertised free activation for which I was given a charge & credit for $35 on my first bill. Do they normally charge it and give credit later on nowadays?

Verizon likes to give rebate cards (prepaid Visa). It takes a couple of weeks to get it in the mail. I use it towards paying the next bill. I don't know if it is your case though. I automatically have waived activation fees from corporate discount program.

Just call verizon, and tell them about the no activation charge, they will take it off. Simple as that.
