seems Y5 is the way to go, It's installed, but I haven' been able to leave my house because of the snow!

There's an app for that too!
It's called 'Shovel', and available at Home Depot.

Remember, it uses cell towers to know where you are so it might not turn off wifi for blocks or even miles from your house. Wifi on isn't a huge drain anyhow so the trade off of not having to manually turn off and on wifi is well worth it.

I see this issue come up all the time. After testing, I cannot for the life of me notice any significant difference between having WiFi on or off. I've done this many times with SystemApp monitoring and looking at the weekly battery graph. The thing that makes a much larger difference is the number of bars I have and how hard the phone has to work at maintaining its presence out on the road away from WiFi. Whether the WiFi is on or off during that time just doesn't seem to make a noticeable difference.
