Free SMS with Google Voice?

Is it possible to send free SMS using Google voice on my Motorolla Droid without being charged by Verizon?

Hey man. Yes you can. Assuming you have the data plan you can just use the regular application. If not, you can use wifi where its availble to use the sms feature.
