Free WIFI doesn't work?

No problem with secure WIFI, where password is entered. But I have problems with free WIFI, even when I am contacted to the WIFI. (eg) Tube, Cafes, etc. It doesn't work, therefore I switch off the WIFI and use 3G.

What am I doing wrong?

Are you guys using static ip by any chance?
Read this older thread, this is all the solutions we could find for the ace's buggy wifi earlier.
