Thursday night my S6 (Sprint) just stops while using the internet. Screen goes black and it reboots. It kept loading and freezing, loading and freezing. Same thing in Safe Mode. No amount of hard resetting fixed it. I decided to reload the firmware.
Found the firmware and used Odin to successfully load it. The next step is to wipe data/factory reset. Well, most of the time my phone still freezes before I can navigate to to that menu. A few times I have been able to get there and hit Yes to Wipe Data/Factory Reset before it freezes. I get Wiping Data..... and Formatting Data..... on the screen and that's where it stops. It seems like it freezes there.
I've tried to just restart the phone, too. I get the SAMSUNG Galaxy S6 screen, then the multi-color swirly Samsung screen, then the yellow Sprint screen. Sometimes I'll even get a black screen after that that says "Android is starting", "optimizing apps 1 of 9". It always freezes here, too. Sometimes it will freeze on app 3, 4, 5, etc, sometimes it will make it to app 9, but it never makes it past.
I'm not a techy guy, just been following online instructions.
It would seem to me like there is some bit of data still on my phone causing these issues.
Isn't there a way to Wipe Data/Factory Reset through Odin or something that doesn't require the phone to do it itself? Is there something Sprint or a good repair shop could do?
