Fresh install of Dropbox

I have recently purchased a new phone and would like to know if there is a way I can install Dropbox on the new device but do not have all the old photos downloaded on it. Also I do not want Dropbox to remove the old photos from the other devices (mainly my PC & laptop). Is this possible with Dropbox? I haven't been able to figure out how to do it..

Dropbox store's everything in the cloud. So no matter how you use it on any device, everything will show up as long as you uploaded it to Dropbox

Yes, the android Dropbox app does not sync everything to your phone in the way Dropbox does on a pc. It only syncs files that you tell it to. They are called "offline files"by Dropbox.

They won't be, unless you choose to set them to 'available offline' or 'save to device' in Dropbox. You have to make these selections. Dropbox doesn't two-way sync in Android on its own.

You can view them in Dropbox from any device signed into the Dropbox account where they are stored.
