Fring and Skype

Is it possible to use fring to call landlines if you have a Skype phone number? ( I pay monthly for a skype number)

Sorry for the n00bish question, but this information would be much appreciated!

You don't even need a skype number, just skype out credits.

Fring does work, you just have to type the phone number as

001XXXYYYYYYY

where xxx is the area code and yyyyyyy is the phone number.

Try it. I have been using it to call in to conference calls at work over our wifi to save on the family share plan minutes. I do not pay for a skype number, just renewable skype credits.

You can make completely free phone calls with a little work using Google Voice / SipGate / SipSorcery / Fring.
