Froyo 2.2 OTA update came with Twitter app... I DON'T WANT THIS

I hate Twitter and I think it's the most vapid piece of technology ever released. Preaching things like "netspeak" r's u's 2's and whatnot is so annoying, not to mention all these lines like: RT #thing @otherthing HI

That's not communication, that's idiocy.

Anyway, rants aside, I want this off my Nexus One. It wasn't pre-installed as far as I could tell when I first got the phone, but after the update BAM, Twitter in my list of apps, and I can't uninstall it from Settings->applications.

Any ideas on how to get rid of this stupid thing?

You'd have to root. I didn't even notice it was or wasn't there as I feel pretty much the same way you do about tweeting ... it's, pardon the pun, for the birds.

it uses less than a meg and doesn't run if you don't use it. I just ignore it.

Try seeing if it is on your list of applications in the market->downloads and uninstall from there.
