frustrated forum user

Hello all, I'm a newbie to this forum though I've been registered here since Dec. 2010. I came in this morning and posted a new topic requesting assistance with a problem on my phone relating to the inability to delete photos from my gallery. I included NO links or images, yet upon hitting the preview key below my 4 paragraph post, my entire post was deleted and I was informed that links and images could not be included.
A little bent out of shape at this end over that. I had not saved the text of that post, and will have to now regenerate it from scratch.

With that out of the way, let me reintroduce myself...

I'm an aircraft mechanic, owning my own maintenance facility here in my hometown. Married, 3 kids college age. I'm into anything mechanical. I ride motorcycles, camp, fish, participate in historical re-enactments, and enjoy snow skiing & Caribbean cruises.
Got into my Samsung Captivate December 2010, after several years of Blackberries, beginning back in the dark ages of Nextel. I'm not into rooting or jailbreaking as of yet. I'm a little skittish about bricking something that I'm still paying for. I run my business from this phone and like for everything on it to provide me a slightly easier day than pencil & paper. I don't game on my phone other than Word Games or Angry Birds while standing in a checkout line at the store. My phone is a productivity tool.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums, Dave! :)

Sorry about the posting problems. Several months ago were were inundated with spam attacks and one of the measures put in place to prevent that were restrictions on first posts. I have seen a few legitimate first posts get kicked out for the reasons you describe even though there were no links in it. It's not a perfect system, but it has gone a long way in keeping the forums clear for legitimate posts. We try and make our best effort to prevent the forums from getting filled up with clutter, but sometimes it's just not good enough.

As the father of a soon to be college graduate, I can empathize both for you and you bank account. ;)
