Frustration with S7 and Do not disturb

We had an S6 and now upgraded to the S7. My wife likes the notification reminder for texts but would like it silenced at night. We thought setting it to Do not disturb with Alarms only on would work but we still get the notifications and the reminders. Why doesn't this work?

Can't answer why it doesn't work but it doesn't. I use "Silence Premium" and it's perfect.

You would think this would be a default feature of the phone. Why can't the built in messaging app repeat the notification like on a LG?

That's weird. Mine works.

And repeat notifications are a feature on the S7. It's just turned off by default. It's in accessibility settings.
