FTV won't see ethernet

I have a FTV and it works OK with wireless but it will not connect using Ethernet.When I plug in the Ethernet cable and go to try to set it up it "Connects with problems"Works for about a minute then looses connection.Orange fading light on front of FTV.Brand new Ethernet cable.Only about 50 feet away from modem. I have to unplug the Ethernet cable then the FTV sees my modem and connects wireless. I would much rather use direct wired. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the FTV's Ethernet could be faulty, repair or replacement required
