Full backup and MMS issues...

Hey everyone long time! As the new owner of the LG Tribute Empire, essentially the Dynasty that I had previous, so far so good. But in moving everything over, and the time that goes with it, I began to think of those long gone days of full app and data backups, that my previous rooted devices allowed.

So far no good with root, so obviously Titanium isn't on the radar; but I'm wondering since it's been a good bit since I looked into it, is there anything out for non rooted devices that does a full backup of apps and data?

And though this is more googable, I'm still having issues downloading and sending MMS messages when my data is off. The options so far haven't helped, and for some reason I can't do it on WiFi, only data, which I don't necessarily want on all the time.

Anyway if you need more information that's fine, and thanks in advance!

MMS messages require a data connection, and it must be mobile data. There you go. If you want to send messages with mobile data off, then you might want to look at non-carrier based platforms like Whatsapp or FB.

As for the backup, unfortunately, without root, any paid or system apps, or databases lime mail or messages, won't be accessible to a backup program.

The Helium backup app does a pretty good job for most apps, but there are a few it can't do. It requires an ADB command to temporarily give it the privileges it needs on an unrooted device, but to someone used to rooting that should hold no terrors (it's all packaged-up in a user-friendly way anyway). I used it for most of the data transfer to my current phone when Google's own transfer app failed.

I always have my own backups of messages anyway, rather than trust an all-in-one app.
