As someone with a fine art background I have never been a fan of in phone cameras. There has always been a lack of soul in the photos that I have taken with a camera phone that leaves me wanting something more out of a tool as convenient as a camera phone. Enter FxCamera an application that utilizes the camera to manipulate photos that you take with your camera they process creating a hipsters dream of vibrant color, contrast and style.
FxCamera has a seemingly endless array of filters and manipulations to keep you interested for hours at a time. whether you are like me and enjoy the simplicity and beauty of the toy camera feature, or you are looking for the classic format of Polaroid film. this application is ready to rock your world. the options are split into 6 initial options (Toycam, Polandroid, Fisheye, Symmetricam Warhol and Normal) of course there are a plethora of options within each including some pretty impressive darkroom tricks such as solarization, toning and litho printing. I tried this on my Mytouch 3g as well as my girlfriend's G1 which it was surprisingly stable. the photos were impressively stylish and could match the look coming from 35mm film and some darkroom time. One wish i would have for this application would be the ability for more manipulations. a SX-70 manipulation would be ideal under the polandroid feature so that would could distort the image after you shot the image. In closing this application has renewed my interest in camera phones now that I have some wiggle room in the style department. If you have an interest in photography this is definately worth an install
