OK I found that a double tap at the very top of the screen reliably shuts down the screen. Still learning, a manual would have been good.

Yessir,the double-tap works well in the notification bar.

Also,if you have a 3rd party launcher installed,I believe this is the only way to get double-tap to turn off the screen.Turning in on should be unaffected.

The double-tap is a YMMV topic in the LG G2 forum as well,might wanna ask around for tips/tricks/etc...

Thats good to hear,hopefully mine will be fault free. XDA Dev's and Android central forums have 'little' more action when it comes to this device
