G1 and BT data transfer

Well, as we all know after receiving our G1's, they don't work wit data transfer via BT, yet according to T-Mobile UK they do, and even advertise this under their specifications for the phone.

So where do we stand with this, can we cancel the contract (not had for 7 days yet), due incorrectly specified on the sales information.

They all say the G2 was released in america about 3 months ago, so what's the difference between the G1 and G2, and how long do you think UK users will have to wait for it

There is no G2 release in the US. As of right now, any information seems to be more rumor than fact.

I'm not sure of the laws in the UK on voiding contracts, but it probably would be hard to do. You might be able to make a big enough fuss to get a discount on a bill, but I would be surprised if the advertising voids the contract.

under UK law, they are not allowed to falsely advertise goods, on the UK website for T-Mobile under the specs they have laid out it states BT supports transfer of data and audio, not only that their sales team are stating it will do BT transfer from one phone to another, which infact is not the case. Thus meaning they are breaking UK laws by claiming a product can do something, when in the reality is, that it can't.

Granted the phone is quite smart and responsive, but there are still a lot of niggly things with it.

There might be something in fine print elsewhere saying something to the effect that while BT technology supports it, the phone currently does not.

The US laws on false advertising is inherently similar, but they do have a lot of gray area when it comes to what can be done to circumvent what you have to note and where.
