Help G1 turns off randomly

i dont know why it happens, but every once in awhile the phone keeps turn off randomly, i have no idea whats causing it, but if any one has any clues,or ideas please post any ideas are appreciated

Does the phone turn off randomly when in use? I wouldnt for one minute think you are referring to the auto-power off feature.

when you say phone do you mean device or "phone" feature of the device

no i mean when im not using it and its just sitting in my pocket the phone just randomly turns off.

My girlfriend had this issue and it turned out that her sim card needed to be cleaned....Couldn't tell you why this caused it just know it stopped when I cleaned it.... You may also want to check your SD card because that may also cause the reboot if it comes loose while your using the phone....

Also go to manage apps in settings and check your free space. People are reporting all kinds of problems when the run out of free space on the phone. I could be wrong here but I am going to go out on a limb and say 20mb or more is ok. Less than that I would clear the browser cache and look seriously at deleting some apps you don't use also if you have a ton of texts clear them out. Just an idea. I get a random reboot once a week or so. Hopefully it will get more stable with future updates.
