G2 and Skype? Alternates?

OK G2 owners... Anyone using Skype on this platform? My previous experience with Skype on my LG Spectrum and also on an HP Touchpad running Cyanogenmod 10.2 have been pretty bad. Device lockups, sound going out or very low-levels or video freeze... even on a very good internet connection of 20+MBps down, numerous MBps up.

Wondering if the G2 works better. The person at the other end of the conversation has been using an iPhone5s or an iPad.

Any information on G2 performance with Skype or potential alternates which you've found to work reliably would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

While there are a few cross platform video chat apps out there, Skype seems to be the most popular. I've only tested Skype video chat over Wifi where both of us were in the same room, just to see if it works kinda thing.

[Google] Hangouts (formerly Google Talk) is available for the iPhone. I have tested Hangouts' video chat with acceptable results over LTE, *BUT* both sides were using Android. I don't know anyone with an iPhone to test with.

Either get Tango or LINE

Since all my contacts are on LINE, i do everything in LINE now.

skype worked and works perfect for me.

Nobody i know uses Skype. I only used Skype at university.

But is Tango or Line or these other programs available on the Apple IOS system as well as Android? And as I read reviews by others, they also suggest Video / Audio drops are common. I suspect this is due to network loading between source and destination and the protocols being used.
