You would have to pay me to switch from Android to iOs. Especially from my G2. And you would have to me a LOT. I'm not a big fan of the closed system that Apple uses. I much prefer the open style that Android provides. Plus, at this point, I'm pretty vested in Google, and changing everything would a GIANT P.I.T.A..

I have five screens of widgets. IOS 8 widgets are not the same.
I've never been crazy about the iOS icon grid or the round block icons. It reminds me of Windows XP. 
The iPhone 6 really just offers a 2012 feature set in a pretty Apple wrapper. They look slick but it's just the same old same old. For the same price, I'd go with something getting Lollipop (L).

If you're a fan of being restricted and told what apps you can run and how your phone should look then go for it. ios 8 has been terrible. Keyboard apps are still not working on all apps.

The icons and look of the phone are one of the nicest things about iphones. The android icons are either juvenile -- little smiley face on the message icon -- or too techie looking. Very ugly.
But the difference is you can actually change the icons on an android.

Their are thousands of icon packs in the play store, so you can have any kind of icons you want with Android.

You can make an Android phone look like an iPhone.
I guess. It's just kind or ironic to go to the play store and wade through all that nonsense to get icons that looks nice as the ones iphone comes with.
Speaking of iphone, I like how it automatically syncs with my safari on my mac and has all my favorites and bookmarks. I just ordered a G2. Can I get it somehow to link with mac's safari in the same way or no?
So they say. But in looking through the play store, it was unclear which apps did it well, or which were ad filled glitch filled problems.
Android home screens icons are completely customizable, either individually or by applying theme icon packs. If you're a 12 year-old girl, you might want that "Hello Kitty" look, or, if you are a network engineer, "Techy" is probably a good thing. If you're a grandmother, you probably want family or nostalgia.
The problem i have with the way iOS is delivered, it treats the young girl, the grandmother and the engineer the same. Buy, hey, if you think it's the greatest thing since Wonder[sup]

Completely customizable? Maybe I haven't figured out how, but I tried to change the size of the home row of icons on the G2 because they were too small, and couldn't. So, ugly and too small (smaller even than those on the otherwise tiny iphone 4) -- not a great combo. Also hate that I'll have to install a third party app in order to make my message text jumbo sized in order to read them without my glasses, and then another app to do the same with email -- neither of which is necessary on iphone, since a simple slide of the text size cursors takes care of both much better than two third party android apps will do.
I have a LOT of problems with iphone. But how things look is not one of them. The phone is gorgeous and easy on my aging eyes. No glitchy third party apps needed.

Google Chrome has been doing this years now. So install Chrome on your Mac, then import all your settings/bookmarks/etc. Log into Chrome on your phone. Set. Or try installing Safari on your G2; should do the same thing...I would think.
I don't like Apple for what nearly everyone else above has stated. I don't like being dictated to and told what I must do, use, eat, sleep, etc. I also like to be different and unique. Everyone else out there has an iPhone...why would I want to be or be like someone else? I want to be me.

Their are a lot of folks who don't like the look of ios including the icons, one of the things that make Android great is choice. If you don't like something you can change it.
Nice in a pinch, no pun intended, but not feasible for everything all the time, day after day.
But I'm not one of them.

You have a choice though........
If you want ios you can get an iPhone. If you like Android then you can get an android device.
Anytime anyone makes a suggestion to help you, you don't wanna have to search the play store (cause it is so tiring and all), to customize your device. If you like the look of ios then you can have it. If someone who uses ios likes the look of Android, they have to buy an android device. I never put apple down, I have an iPhone I use for work and my wife has only ever used iPhone. Android is made to give you choices. A lot of people like that, and a lot of people prefer the simple childlike way ios is made.
I personally feel you would be better off with an iPhone. It is obvious that you prefer not only the look of ios, but the functionality as well.
So trade in your current device and jump on a new iPhone.
Just know you are getting features from 2 years ago crammed into a pretty metal body lol
I may. Plus, looks aside, the iphone performs much more smoothly and glitch-free than Android. Many weird glitches, errors, mini-problems and annoyances in one day of use than in four months of iphone, which is kind of how i remember things.
Do love the notification lights, the absence of outgoing text sounds, and a few other things a lot though. So I will be weighing those features against the benefits and drawbacks of iphone.
Why would you think that?

I was going to reply & quote all the posts that are my reasons for preferring Android over iphone, but there were too many!
Generally speaking, iphones are a one-size-fits-all, while Android lets you customize the phone to look and act almost completely to your personal preferences. I have the same phone as many other people but all of our phones look different & behave differently depending on what apps & customizations we have. If you like being able to set your phone up for YOU, go with Android, but you also have to be willing to take the time to educate yourself on forums like this, as well as look for the apps that will meet your needs.
If you don't like customizing a phone & want to just use what's given to you with very little in the way of options, go with an iphone. I equate this to everyone being told they're being issued uniforms - you can have any size & color you like as long as it's a size XL in black.
And FYI - sure there are some "glitchy" apps but unless you're installing really weird apps, most won't have any problems.
