Help galaxy ace texting problem

Hi, can anyone help me i dont seem to be able to send text messages without my wifi switched on i can recieve but not send when wifi is switched off. Jeff 56yrs old and a bit thick with this sort of thing.

LOL. You & me both Jeff! Have you recently upgraded to Gingerbread? There is a known bug on most carriers that won't allow texting without wifi or packet data/internet turned on. Don't know why & they are trying to upgrade with a fix, but that's all I know. Maybe somebody else will chime in with news. So it's not something you are doing wrong! Hope this helps. GrahamF. London.
