Help Galaxy Ace. Total noob

Hello and welcome to Android Forums crabapplez. :)

I'd be happy to answer as much questions as I can. :)
You don't really need an antivirus for android as I have had one before and it hasn't slowed the phone down as much as I can tell, but I think the battery fairs better without one and if you read app reviews, read the permissions, or ask the community about it you should be fine.
If you can you could get an expanded SD card for additional storage, but I think it's the phones internal memory that's important. Apps generally aren't too big as some are around 2MB or 3 depending on the app.
A screen protector would be a good idea as they're good to prevent scratches and all and if you keep your phone in your pocket along with keys than yes.
Sadly, I am not familiar with Talk Mobile, but I'm sure somebody here is. :)
The apps that come installed are usually things like facebook, youtube, Gmail, etc.
Some things like carrier apps too, but unfortunately you can't get rid of pre-installed apps unless you root/hack your phone. :(
For good battery life just keep the brightness down, don't use live wallpapers, turn WIFI, 3G/4G off, turn GPS off, and don't use task killers. :)

Welcome, Crabapplez, to Android Forums!

I have moved this thread to the Galaxy Ace forum, so that those who know this phone best can help to answer your questions.:)

Metroid Prime has already answered many points but i'd just add my opinions on things here,
1.Anti virus doesn't take up much battery and neither does it slows down the phone, however it does runs in the background so it uses a part of ram, since ace already has a low ram, it might be a issue if you intend to run ram heavy apps. Personally i have never felt a need to use an antivirus, had 1 some time back but was literally useless.
Just make sure you use apps with good developer reputation and be carefull of the permissions the app wants and you'll be fine there.
2. The apps are getting quite larger by the day, usually 3-5mb, most cannot be stored on sd card so they take up our ace's very limited internal memory, that is the biggest issue in this phone, it actually all depends on the apps you use. The phone gives you around 150mb internal memory for apps.
3.It comes with corning glass but a screen protector usefull in preventing scractches and fingerprints on the glossy touchscreen.

The internal memory is small, but it comes with a 2GB micro-SD card in the box. You can place certain apps on the SD card, but not many. If you put your music and pictures on the SD card, and don't install a whole lot of games, then it will be no problem for the Ace :)
