Help galaxy ace

I have just got this phone and would like to adjust the answerphone so that it picks up after 8 rings .it seems to just ring and ring and not go on the answerphone at all.....i have looked at the on line manual and cannot find an answer.can you help me please?

update: you will of course have to have actually activated the voicemail service via your provider. This is not a handset problem it is set by the service provider.
