Before replacement of screen at the bottom there are kind of flex cables by the home button that look almost like the tape from the old screen you probably rip one or two of these. It still might of been with old screen. Easily mistaken for the adhesive holding it.
When you changed your screen have to be careful by the home button because that's where the soft buttons are. And the flex cable if you will, looks like the old adhesive and it might still be with the old screen.
