If you mean unlocked it from MetroPCS then it will depend how you did it. If it was an official unlock code from Metro, then it should never re-lock. If it was some exploit to bypass the carrier lock, then you'll probably lose it with a reset.
 
I mean unlocked using the metro pcs app that is on the phone. I've had this phone more than two years. I just went through the steps and a message said the phone is permantly unlocked. I was not given a code. The app disappeared but will it not re-appear after reset?
 
Ahhh. I would think it won't reappear after a reset. My guess never being a MPCS customer is that the app is designed to delete itself from the system once the unlock is confirmed. Once gone from the system it will not come back unless you were to flash stock firmware. Now, what would happen to your unlock state were you to flash it, I have no idea.
