Help Galaxy newbie

Well ive been an apple supporter since the 3 and I pre ordered the S9 plus tonight..giving my iphone X to my kid.

Few questions

1) A way to use my yahoo contacts,mail, calendar etc or go with google only?

2) load my pictures up from a mac

3) load music from mac.

I plan on getting a case and SD card day one

any other tips are appreciated

I've never used Yahoo anything, so can't comment on contacts or calendar. Yahoo email will be trivial though, any email app will do that.

Pictures from a Mac: sure. You can use a usb cable and try Google's Android File Transfer app on the Mac, or copy over WiFi, or just stick the SD card in a cheap card reader and copy them onto that.

Same for music. There are some apps that will try to import iTunes playlists (DoubleTwist comes to mind, but it's almost 8 years since I tried that) but I never bothered, just used a usb cable and copied all of the music folders over (I stuck them in a folder called "Music", just to be tidy. Unlike iOS Android doesn't hide the filesystem from you).

3: Easy unless they are .DRM protected
Get the case. You only need the MicroSD card if you carry a lot of music and movies with you always.

Yahoo has an app that is their preferred way for you to connect.

Easier way ...

Once your phone is setup to a Google account (gmail) then log into that account on your Mac using Safari. Go to photos (https://photos.google.com) and upload the photos from your Mac there. They'll be available on your phone, but not loaded locally. The Cloud, baby!
