Galaxy Note 4 Aux Cord Problem

Hey everyone,
I just got a samsung galaxy note 4 and I am having the hardest time getting music to play through my aux cord in my car-- I have a 2010 Honda civic and have never had aux problems... my boyfriends s5 plays just fine through the aux cord but I'm getting no sound when I plug my phone in (note 4). I'm not even getting the earphones connected notification needless to say I'm sooo frustrated.

Is there a setting I need to fix?? Please help!!

Been using Dock'n'Play cable: https://ibolt.co/car-docks/smartphone-mounts/dock-n-play - for the last 2.5 years. Started with Note 2, switched to Note 4 now. Still use it to charge, but also need to verify aux audio working to be ok, though I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

Just received the dock and play and music still won't play. I'm getting so frustrated. Ggrrr
