Galaxy Note 5 randomly uses it own back function

Is this a common problem? I could be writing a text or a comment on Facebook and it randomly backs out from the entire message or comment to the previous screen. It's so annoying. Only know of 1 other person who has this same issue as well but they have a Galaxy s6.

now, is this related only to facebook, or does it happen when typing a SMS text?

Both. Its even done it before on YouTube, when I'm watching a video and it backs out of it to the search results.

But it does do ithe alot on Facebook while I'm typing out a comment, watching a video, or looking at something that was shared in their browser. I'm thinking it could be a virus of some sort maybe?

Okay, based on that, IMO you have a bad Digitizer on your phone.
a wrinkle or crease is activating the Back button.

best solution to that is to replace the Digitizer.... around here near me, there are several very good phone repair stores that offer that service. If the phone is under warranty, ask to get it fixed.

as steve jobs says, you are holding it wrong

seriously, are you sure you are not brushing the back button as you are typing or the way you are holding it? It happens to me too because of my fat fingers - especially when landscape.
