galaxy s getting unusable and really anniying

I have 2 issues with my galaxy s i 9000.
1) you can only use the o(9) key if you turn the phone sideways.
2) the phone twitches alot and the grey bar at the top of the screen slides down the screen on its own accord and then randomly selects apps or different options on apps you are using. It also auto zooms in and out without you touching it like it has a virus or something.
I have struggled trying ti enter this as it keeps zooming in and out and selecting different
things...

It appears out of control or on drugs and its really annoying. It is now
getting harder to use as when i type it does what it wants too..

Reboots dont appear to fix it - any ideas ?

Sounds a bit dodgy, used that firmware for a while and never experienced any issues like this.

Have you tried a factory reset via recovery menu? I don't know what else to suggest.

OP: this could very well be the cause of the problem. I have experienced those same symptoms when I use "off brand" chargers, or chargers for other phones. It has something to do with how much power the charger is giving the phone. So to repeat the Hatter's question: are you experiencing these symptoms while it's charging? If so, what charger are you using?
