Hi,

I purchased a Galaxy S i9000 smart phone last night.

Now I need to install apps on it. Which apps do you recommend me to install on it from the android market. the device came with gingerbread pre installed on it 2.3.3 version i9000DDJV4. is this the latest version or do I need any other updates.
:)

To answer your question we need to know where you are. Most countries have different firmware to account for different languages and different carriers. As an example, the latest official firmware for the U.K. is JVQ, but JVR can be obtained via samfirmware.

Let us know where you are and your carrier, and we'll try to help.

Hey,

Hi.
Look you first need to get to know your phone learn what's what & where..
Then decide if you are happy with current firmware or you would like to update..
If im correct then most recent gingerbread version is 2.3.5.. But remember you have offical updates and leaked updates..
With ref to apps you can download.what you want..but when phone rooted then you hav more control..
Hope that helps

I m living in india too, and i am using XXJVQ2.3.4 since 6 month. I dont know about your DJV4 stock version. b,coz when i have purchased i got stock eclair version, then onward i never used official version from kies.
just to inform XXJVQ 2.3.4 also a stock firmware but is eurpe version. I never mark a single bug on that version, n also mine device is rooted.
Choice is yours...
