Help Galaxy S i9000 update

thermite

Lurker
Hi all,

I'm still using my Galaxy S on Froyo and don't feel I need to upgrade to a new handset yet but I would like some advice on rooting and getting my phone updated to the latest and greatest F/W (Custom or standard) so that I can get the best out of my phone and give it a new lease of life. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've already used Odin a while ago to update from Eclair to Froyo so I've had a bit of experience with this apart from rooting and loading custom ROM's Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

I would take a cold shower if I were you and put on the brakes. :)

After several years of use with 2.1 and 2.3 I became adventurous yesterday.
I rooted my phone for the first time and installed Jelly Bean (4.2.2).

I honestly can't see a single thing that I like better than with Gingerbread (2.3).

I do see a lot of things I don't like however. :(

Well each to their own I guess. Since I've been running CyanogenMod 10.1.2 with the CPU overclocked to 1200mhz. It's like a new phone. Much quicker, slicker and I think the features are great. Maybe you're not doing it right. ;)

Too late.
I'm eating Gingerbread once again and much happier too. :)
