Root Galaxy S not loading up after root attempt

I tried to root my Galaxy S this evening and have got a problem :(

I used Chainfire and the guide here ([21.12.2010][CF-Root v1.3] JPH/K/6/M/A/O/U/X/Y - su+busybox+2e, CWM compat! - xda-developers) using the second JPY file.

After rebooting, the phone now loads up the screen with the blue S on and then goes black and just keeps vibrating (as it does when it force closes an app).

I've tried a factory reset and I keep getting the same result.

I'm stuck now and don't know what to do :(

Next time try z4root or super one click instead.

Well, if you can't boot up, you are just going to have to flash using Odin. Pick an Eclair rom. Those are easier to flash. No need to tick repartition (unless if you used a froyo rom with funny pit files. The beta ones use 803.pit instead of the usual 512.pit)

Sorry, I should have updated this, I got the phone working again. I since tried again and have now rooted it :)

Based on my experience and what I've read on a few forums, Z4 Root doesn't work for phones on 2.2.1, I'd already tried that before CF.

Super One Click should work. But a few people have reported that it does not work for them. It's getting increasingly difficult to get definite information nowdays. It seems like there's always an exception.
