There's life in the old girl yet!

Although the Samsung Galaxy S2, model i9100, is now over 6 years old and has only got 1GB of RAM it can still hold its own on Android Nougat 7.1.2 as this screenshot shows...

I do not intend to go into a step-by-step tutorial but will point you in the right direction and give you a few links for downloads and instructions since this is for competent and experienced users only. Suffice to say that for those of you that still have the trusty and reliable Galaxy S2, the Lineage ROM on Android 7.1.2 will not disappoint you as it offers a whole host of Nougat features and runs fast and smooth. Here is a video tutorial and some useful links...

(There are useful download links with the video)

Lineage ROM download for the i9100... https://download.lineageos.org/i9100

Google apps download, (I used the nano for ARM 7.1)... http://opengapps.org/

Good luck and enjoy! :D

Nice work, ironass. I might try that for my older galaxy tab 2. My s5 is perfectly fine on stock.

Latest update, 29th March, with the 05 March Android Security update that most Android users worldwide, have yet to see or indeed, will ever see.

This custom ROM is full of concealed issues!
I do not recommend to use it.
I was testing it seriously for about 2 months and I decided to return to the latest official Samsung firmware with Android 4.1.2.
I remember my experience with Lineage 14.1 on Galaxy S2 as suffering.
