Help Galaxy S3 battery issue

I apologise if this has come up before. I just want to find out what the problem is

Symptoms:

My phone was charging really slowly and would drain even while charging (if not switched off), once charged the battery drains very quickly

solutions:

New battery: the didnt work and the problem continues

factory reset: perhaps I had loads of stuff running in the background so I wiped everything and the problem continues

New charger: heres the interesting part, new chargers work ok for a while (a few weeks) then the problem continues

Charging circuit: I downloaded a charging app which tells me the input current which usually drops from 1 amp to 0.1 amps within a about a minute of refreshing. With new chargers its pretty much around 1 amp constantly

its really annoying me because I would be inclined to believe that its high resistance on the charging circuit but the fact that different chargers work well for a while makes me wonder what it could be. Its not shorting the chargers either because they work well on other devices

any advice will be helpful. Im at a complete loss here

Have you had the charging port looked at?

Ive had a quick look myself and cleaned it out. I took it to a local shop where I bought a new battery and they seemed to think it looked ok

I think my next move is to send it to samsung which im loathed to do

I would take it back to the shop where you bought it and have them run some tests on it before sending it back to Samsung.
