Help Galaxy S3 & connection to car's Bluetooth

mrcanary

Lurker
I live in the UK and have Bluetooth hands-free equipment in my car that has always happily connected with my Galaxy S1. This week I took delivery of a new Galaxy S3 which is connecting to the car's hands-free and allows me to make and receive calls, but the car is now unable to access the phone book on my new Galaxy. It had no problems with the previous Galaxy.
I am not very technically minded and am sure this is probably just a 'settings' issue, but I cannot find where the problem is...
Can anybody help me please?
Thanks,
Mel

My s2 and s3 are the same. As my my hands free only needs it to announce names I didn't bother but would be nice to find out. I even tried to the contracts via bluetooth to my handsfree and it seemed like it was working but didn't. Worth trying on yours as a first step

To contacts, select all, send, via bluetooth, select handsfree device.

chillibean - thanks again - it worked...

Whilst carrying out your suggested fix, I left my phone's Bluetooth visibilty longer than it had previously been, so that may have helped the transfer, but ether way, all is now up and running!

As for the S3 itself, after just a few days, I am loving it! Certainly a big improvement on the S1, albeit people transferring from an S2 to S3 may not notice such a big change.
