Galaxy S3 "Service under system Maintenance, and Please check your network connection and try again

Samsung Galaxy S3 (first one out so not 4G), on Three (UK)

Hi guys,

I've searched forums and websites and can't find a thing. My phone has a message on it constantly saying "Please check you network connection and try again" even though everything on my phone works perfectly including the connections and it wont budge from the bottom of my screen. I also have a second message this time in a big white box that says "Maintenance: Service under system maintenance" which you have to press OK to get rid of though only appears now and then. Also the internet data signal is on constantly.

This has happened before but eventually went away but has started again? Any ideas what it is and how to fix this? Before you say I have tried:

Turning On and Off
Checking for updates
Closing data and mobile connections
Force stopping everything I can find that is running
Clearing RAM and cache

I don't want to factory reset if I can help it?

Any help appreciated.
