Galaxy s3 text and call indicator wont go

Hi guys,
Does anyone know how to remove the text message and missed call indicators on the galaxy s3? Ive cleared all my logs and messages and restarted the phone but it seems to stay and its really annoying because if i have 5 unread msgs or calls it still only reads one then wont go away.

I believe I have found the issue. I reset my phone last night to factory specs. And checked every little thing I do in settings to make this error. I made a full log, had another phone to text myself with and something in settings is causing this. Being a battery saver I found the indicator will not go away unless you go to .....

settings>developer options>apps UNCHECK do not keep activites

Hold down the home button for task manager and clear your RAM

Don't ask me why, but this works. Been dealing with this for 2 weeks. Thank God.

I've followed your instruction but didn't work?

I'll be waiting your help and if I get the resolution, I'll make sure to post it for you.
